Yes. Jamia Darul Uloom Jirar Par Inc. is a US federally-registered 501(c)(3) public charity under IRC §170(b)(1)(A)(vi). Our IRS determination letter was issued June 16, 2020, with an effective exemption date of December 20, 2019. EIN: 45-5574020.
Yes. 100% of designated Zakat donations go directly to recipients who qualify under the eight categories prescribed in the Quran — orphans, the poor, students of knowledge, and the needy. We do not use Zakat funds for overhead.
We operate a 100% donation policy — every dollar you give reaches the programs you designated. Our small operational overhead (bank fees, website, auditing) is covered by a separate board endowment, never from donor funds.
You commit to $25/month (or more) for a minimum of 12 months. We pair you with a specific child and send you a profile with their name, age, and photo. Quarterly you receive a handwritten letter or photo update, and an annual progress report.
Our orphanage and madrasah are in the village of Lohajuri, Katiadi Upazila, Kishoreganj District, Bangladesh — a remote rural area where access to clean water, stable education, and consistent care is often very limited. Our US office is in Buffalo, New York.
The institute was founded in 2006 by Mohammed Aslam, who established it in fulfillment of his father's final will — a personal amanah to care for the orphans of his hometown. Mohammed Aslam continues to serve as the point of contact for the US entity.
Yes. We welcome donors and family members. Please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance to coordinate travel to Lohajuri — we can help arrange accommodation and transportation from the nearest town.
Qurbani orders close 3 days before Eid al-Adha. We purchase the animals from local farms, perform the Qurbani on the days of Eid, and distribute meat as per the sunnah (one third to the orphanage, one third to the needy, one third to the community). You receive confirmation with photos.
Yes. We publish audited annual financial statements on request, and our board reviews finances quarterly. Contact us at finance@jirarpar.org for the most recent filing.
We accept boys who have lost one or both parents, and children from families in severe hardship. Applications are submitted through local community leaders and reviewed by our board. There is no admission fee. We do not currently have capacity to house girls, though we serve them through our daily programs.
Yes — both in person and remotely. Remote volunteers help with translation, graphic design, and social media. On-site volunteers teach English, help with health clinics, or assist with construction. See our Careers page for current openings.
